I found your post interesting regarding a John Clardy Slaton. My ancestor, Nancy Clardy was also called "Mary" Nancy Clardy, supposedly, and I also have a William Slayton (spelled slightly different than your Slaton) b. about 1780, who married Frances Honey, and had Christinna Slayton b. abt. 1805 in Pendleton Dist. S.C. She married David Desmond Spearman. Supposedly David also married a second wife by the name of Nancy. s quite confusing, but maybe we have a connection. Also, I have some information one generation back from your Benj. Clardy, b. 1706. His father was also a Benjamin, b. abt. 1671 in ?, and died 1733-1764 in ? Let me know, Connie, [email protected]
