For the past several years I have been attempting to determine the descendants of Jennings NIX of Pickens , South Carolina and then Blount County, Alabama. But for the past couple of months I have been involved in the analysis of a single page in the 1840 Federal Census for Pickens South Carolina. I have found that I am kin of at least half of the families on this page, and three families on the previous page. But the ones that intrigued me the most, and the ones that I am having the most difficulty in identifying are those named NIX. They are in general the age of my Jennings and I belive that they may add to my knowledge of Jennings ancestors. They are: William B. NIX, Berry NIX, and Isaac NIX. I belive that William B. is William Baker Nix b. abt 1790 and his wife Rebecca MURPHDREE, my 1C5R. I have also found a note in my files from Patricia Cantrell indicating that she is their G(3)Grarndduaghter. But my note does not have her e-mail address.
