And Masiah was the founded of the Mountain Grove Baptist Church. Masiah was the son of Robert Cobb Jr. and Susan Long. Susan and Nancy’s father was Masiah Long. Masiah married Louellen (Ellen) Pitts about 1874 in SC. She was born December 25, 1845 in SC and died April 9, 1951 in Oconee County South Carolina. Ellen was the daughter of West Allen and Isabella Pitts. Ellen died at 106 years of age; she was approx. 8 years older than her husband yet outlived him by approximately 32 years. She was a schoolteacher in Mountain Grove. They had a total of 8 children; these are the only names I have currently. At the time of Ellen Pitts Cobb's death she had 48 grandchildren and 97 great-grandchildren. . She was buried in Mountain Grove Baptist Ch Cemetery, Long Creek, Oconee, SC. Here's some additional Cobb info: Packet #339, Document #3, Clerk of Courts Office, Pickens County, SC: On 4 March 1829, Lily and Samuel Whitmire made oath against Robert Cobb, of having gotten Delilah Whitmire, a single women, with a bastard child, which was born 8 April 1825. Cobb was ordered to pay $300 to Delilah. This Delilah Whitmire married John Corbin, Sr about the 1828/29 timeframe and they raised the child, Martha Jane(Cobb) as their own (Martha took on the Corbin name in future records). This is the apparently the reason that Martha Jane is not listed as an heir in John's will in 1853, ie not really his child. All other children of this marriage (2nd for John Sr) were listed in the will. Children (at least 9 - 7 daughters first and then 2 sons) of John's first marriage to an unknown woman were also not listed in the will but were adults with their own families by then.
