My ancestor, William Floyd lived at Mile Creek and Keeowee River My ancestor, Anthony Burrows lived at SIX Mile Creek and Keowee River. It is my understanding that the Creeks with Miles in them. Twelve Mile Creek, etc. were named from a central location on the Keeowee River and each creek thereafter was named by the distance from that location. Is anyone else researching folks who lived at one of those "Miles" on the Keowee River? Also, I downloaded the gedcom from the Old Pendleton Site. I did not find the South Carolina ancestors I was looking for. I did find one of my Georgia ancestor's sons. I found some information on his wife's South Carolina family. It is a large database and it was available for download. Apparently, the main way to get South Carolina folks on there is for someone to send in the information. If someone wants me to see if their SC ancestor is on the database, I will be glad to do so since I have it on my computer now. Betty
