I am hoping someone on the list would know: Is Orr's Rifles and Orr's Regiment the same unit? I read that the uniform worn by the members of Orr's Rifles was green. However, I have not been able to find out the "shade" of green. I just found at http://www.rootsweb.com/scpicken/civilwar/surnames/g.htm- William H. I have abstracts of wills of Laurens County, SC 1785-1820. I only have Will Book A, C and D. I don't know why Will Book B is missing. The book is hard to read but I will try to do lookups and give you what information I have. Sue

Check the census for Tippah Co. MS for 1850 or 1860, in the vicinity of Salem, Orizaba, Ripley, Falkner. I believe thee are Garretts living in a Stewart household or Stewarts living in a Garrett household. I'm also looking for Smith's in this area. I have an Andrew Smith (born 1-26-1818), married to Millie ?. They had these children: Charles (born 4-10-1832), Wales, Rowley, Millie, Theresa. Charles, who is my ancestor, married Sarah Ann Wilson. They all lived in the Brushy Creek area of Anderson County, near Easley. Charles and Millie are buried in Fairview Methodist Church cemetery.
