Hi Sue, Do you think your "History of OPD" book has anything on the family of Naaman(1st) Curtis b.1778 (Wm. & Martha Boon> Daniel Boone Curtis>) I know others have a lot on this family, however, since he is also my ggggrandfather and I would like to have some documentation of my own. Is this a book that can be purchased? sue hall mills wrote: > > I forgot to say I have a copy of "History of Old Pendleton District" with quite a bit of genealogy, and I will be glad to look and see if your ancestor is there. > > Sue

I got the information from a book called "Lost Links". I can't remember the author's name. It called Eleanor, adopted daughter of William Cannon. Supposedly they were from near Charleston. That's all that I know. Sorry I don't know anything about adoption records. Beth robertpf wrote: > > I would be interested in learning where and what you found about Eleanor > being adopted. I find no will for a Lowery but I do find them as purchasers at estate sales. This book is so hard to read, I am having a tough time. There is a Chas & Jr. George, James, Jane, John Jonathan, Polly, Rhoda, Robert, Sarah, Thomas and William, all in Laurens. According to this book there is a Rev War record of someone or maybe several persons of that name, filed in the SC Dept of Archives. These are James, John, Robert and Thomas. This book has 664 pages in it and part of it is not indexed, but I am sure some of these people are on deeds. If you want me to look for a deed on someone let me know. It might take me a while.
