Nothing in Old Pendleton. I found no will but some Lowery's mentioned as purchasers, and as witnesses on deeds. I found a Nathaniel Lowery that was one of the first settlers in Sc. arriving September 1684, That are 2 Lowerys that are early Pee Dee Settlers, I found, in SC Gen Records a William Lowry, d. 1826, heirs Susannah, Agnes, Joseph, James, William, Robert, John, Esther, Elizabeth, Alex and Thomas, all in Fairfield Co. Thomas Lowry took Oath of Allegience on Nov. 3, 1820 Chester County SC ----- Original Message ----- From: Wanda Spencer <melvspen@m.sd351.k12.id.us> To: <SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 02, 2000 3:52 PM Subject: Re: [SC-OPD] Lookups > Sue, > Could you look and see if you have anything on the Lowry-Lowery's. > Thanks > Wanda > > sue hall mills wrote: > > > > I forgot to say I have a copy of "History of Old Pendleton District" with quite a bit of genealogy, and I will be glad to look and see if your ancestor is there. > > > > Sue > > > > > > ==== SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST Mailing List ==== > > Want to search for a surname in RootsWeb archives > > http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl > > > ==== SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST Mailing List ==== > Want to search for a surname in RootsWeb archives > http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl > >

Patricia and Jan, I believe these Mortons are in my line. My cousin, Carol, knows these far better than I do. You may want to contact her at Sixpalz@aol.com. Some of the Mortons married into the Nelson line in Marshall and Blount/Etowah Counties. Also have another cousin who is direct descendent of the Mortons who moved into Clay County and other AL counties. WHOA Sue, you sure are brave to handle 700+ e-questions from this list! Whenever you have time to work this look up into your busy schedule. You are a sweetheart! Lynda in TN lkwebster@mindspring.com LQQK: Thomas MIDDLETON born abt 1775-ish in ??, shows up in 1800 Pendleton SC census living with the Samuel and Elizabeth Chastain DENTON family ( the Pierre Chastain line). Two of Thomas' children, John and Charity, marry Denton siblings. Thomas may also have another child, Thomas Jr.(?) The family migration pattern is SC>NC>GA (except for John). Anna MIDDLETON, born close to Thomas' date of birth, I'd say, becomes 2nd wife to Elijah CHASTAIN, who is brother to Elizabeth Chastain (above). Conflicting data shows Anna's birth place as TN,SC or VA. Possibility she is sister, or somehow related to Thomas, Sr Any help is tremendously appreciated Lynda Sue graciously wrote: >I forgot to say I have a copy of "History of Old Pendleton District" with quite a bit of genealogy, and I will be glad to look and see if your ancestor is there. >Sue

Do you need a look up in it? Let me know. Charlotte
