The Book of the Dead is one volume. There is an Anderson County Cemetery survey that consists of seven (maybe eight) volumes but it does not, to my knowledge have every cemetery. (Ruhamah Methodist Church cemetery, off US29 south of Anderson (overlooking Lake Hartwell), is not in any of the first seven volumes.) Elizabeth Whitaker evw2@bellsouth.net Easley, South Carolina

Thank you so much!! I'll try to get over to our local library and see if they have it, or can get some kind of copy. Again, thanks! Kay McGee At 10:36 PM 08/25/2000 -0400, you wrote: >There is a Mt. Lyn, In a quick search of the emails I sent out to friends (as I was finding things of interest I just had to share), I found this url: http://searches1.rootsweb.com/usgenweb/archives/nc/military/1835pens.txt but I remember another for TN and another one for AL. Both the NC and the TN url had SC surnames within it. By the way, these materials were all supplied by Mr. Navey, incredible man. Enjoy your visits <G> Kay McGee At 12:18 AM 08/26/2000 -0400, you wrote: >In a message dated 8/25/2000 5:39:58 PM Pacific Daylight Time, >kmcgee03@earthlink.net writes: > ><< you all should look at those 1835pension.txt > files in the various states!! they are chocked full) >> > > >Kay, where would one go to look at these records? >Thanks, >Lyn > > >==== SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST Mailing List ==== >Remember the Subject line >and amend it to reflect >what's in your message.
Is anyone looking for Liddels. I received a copy of a will that was in the newspaper some years ago. I do not have the name of the paper or the date. A will for a George Washington Liddel was found among some papers of a deceased Warren R. Davis estate. This will was found during the transaction of the land being sold. The will is dated 1861. Here are the names listed in the will. Wife Rebecca C. children: John Thomas Liddel James A. Liddel George Washington Liddel Mary Elvira Rebecca Caroline Sarah Ann Julia Anna It states that George Sr. owned a large Plantation on the Keowee River. If this is anyone's family let me know and I will be glad to send out a copy of the info. Kristy
Hi, What genealogy program did you use for the import? Best Regards, Herman G <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Delta/8155/">Old Pendleton Home Page</A> [Downloads, Family Line Web Pages, CD ROM Databases and much more]
Does anyone know about the Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, how old it is where exactly it is, and if there is a list of those buried there in existence online? I spent hours last night online looking, but I must have a less then green-thumb when it comes to results on search engines of any kind. I found tons of great stuff (you all should look at those 1835pension.txt files in the various states!! they are chocked full), but I could not find any PISGAH Cemetery, except in MS I think it was. I looked in Anderson Co., in anything having to do with Pendleton Co/Dist etc and came up confused. Hoping for suggestions about where to look, Kay McGee ~~~~ Genealogy: http://home.earthlink.net/~kmcgee03/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cousins
Go to www.familysearch.com and download the PAF program. It's free. As far as I know, it is the only program that is large enough to run the gedcom file now. (A gedcom won't run on it's own.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Allen" <jall@watervalley.net> To: <SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 25, 2000 11:50 AM Subject: Re: [SC-OPD] Old Pendleton Database -- HELP!! >It is a self-extracting zip file. I downloaded the files at the above address. The "MERGE.BAT" put them together in a "GEDCOM" file. The first time I attempted to open the GED file it could not complete the loading because of a lack of memory. I removed the TSRs and closed all programs for a second attempt to open the file. The same thing happened again. This is the message I got, "There is not enough available memory to complete this operation. Please close other open applications then click Retry." I don't understand this since I have 96megs of RAM and almost 3 gigabytes on the hard drive. Something else, when I click on the GED to open the file it also opens FTM as a secondary window. Any suggestions?? In advance, "Many thanks" for your help. JimAllen ? ? ? "Blowing out the other person's candle won't make yours shine any brighter." Looking for any info for my gggGrand Father, Edward Haralson Stancil b.6/May/1833 - d.11/June/1883 in Pickens Co., and buried in Nemons Cemetery, enroute to Ga. from Rosman, NC. Is there a Nemons Cemetery or Chruch? If there is, where is it located. Thanks
What churches were in the area of Conneross Creek & Burchfield Bridge, Pendleton Dist. (became Pickens Co but now Oscone Co., SC) prior to 1820? AND are there any church records available? Any online? I understand that most of the area is now under water. Bill
Donna, only part of the history is in there as far as I could determine, so if anybody has the complete copy, please send it to me, even though the typing is terrible!!

A couple of years ago I entered a copy of the above history into these pages. Does anyone have a copy he can send me? I bought a new computor, lost my entry and if I can avoid having to retype it into my files, I'll be glad! Martha Epperson
