I was sent this most interesting web site by my nephew because he knew I liked genealogy links. Not only can you easily locate graves using this site, you can add them. For example, this is the link to Auburn Coach Shug Jordan's grave: http://www.findagrave.com/pictures/10231.html

Somehow I managed to miss earlier messages on the list about Carpenters. Read this one today and realized that I had some information in my PAF about them. I am herewith copying some of the information. These Carpenters left SC and moved to Cass County, Georgia (later known as Bartow County) with the Linn Family from the Pendleton District. I have addition information if anyone is interested. Mary Tinkler !Garrison Linn had a sister named Elizabeth, who married Thomas L. Carpenter, the son of Burwell and Elizabeth Carpenter (Alexander, et.al. Pendleton District and Anderson County, S.C., Will of Burwell Carpenter, p. 70 - refers to pp. 424-426 of Anderson County, S.C. Will Book A. 1800-1835) The will was dated 20 Aug. 1830 and proven 24 Jan 1831.) [pp. 374-375 of WPA Will Transcripts of Pendleton District & Anderson County, SC (1790-1857) by Judy Ballard.] !In the 1820 Census of the Pendleton District, S.C., Thomas L. Carpenter is listed as head of a household with 1 male under 10 years old, 1 male 18 to 26 years old, and l female 16 to 26 years old. (Alexander, p. 289) There is one household listed between the Carpenters and Robert Linn.
I tried to make a copy of the census page my ancestor William Oakley was counted on. Unfortnately every film around here is so dark I can't make out his neighbors. Trying to find his wifes family..thought they might be living close by. If anyone has the 1830 census..please check the 2 families before and the 2 families after William Oakley. Thank you for your time & trouble, Derrell Oakley Teat

For K. and others... There are about fourteen Smiths that are related to Lettice Wyatt. Many people can help you.. You can go back to the Mayflower with Lettice and also to early VA... Caleb Smith was the big rabbit... Linda Cheek has done a book on some of the Smiths of that line.. She is an officer of Pendleton Historicial Society.. or Genealogical Society..Nimrod Smith belongs to the Wyatt/Smith connection.. I do not descend from this group... Leonardo Andrea also listed all the early spouses of these fourteen children.. His material is on line and is also owned now by Church of Latter Day Saints.. It is in Columbia and also in Greenville and many other libraries... Anne ----- Original Message ----- From: K.
