When I saw the message asking "...anybody out there," it touched a cord. No messages for so long! And never any answers to my queries about Linns in the OPD! . Searching for the maiden name of LYDIA LINN, wife of JAMES LINN, JR. and mother of GARRISON LINN, ROBERT LINN, KEZIA (MRS. JAMES DANNELLY), ELIZABETH (MRS. THOMAS L. CARPENTER), HANNAH (MRS. JOHN CLAYTON), MARGARET (MRS. JACOB OZIER), AND JANE (MRS. CHARLES WINTER). From at least 1785 until the mid 1830's, this family lived on 23 Mile Creek in the OPD when some of them migrated to Cass County, Georgia. I have much information on this family that I am willing to exchange. Sometime today my husband & I leave Chattanooga heading for the UTC/Wofford football game on Saturday, but really using the opportunity to head for the OPD. We plan to stop in Pendleton (Hunter's Store) again, Central, Easley, Pickens, etc., and, if we can find it, we may on Saturday get back to Keowee State Park for the OPD meeting, but on Saturday, football comes first! Hope to see some of you on Thursday & Friday! Mary Tinkler

Welcome, pull up a chair, or sit on the steps, just push the dog over a wee bit so you have room to sit. We are all friends here and another friend is always a blessing. Gods Blessings, Gabby
Thanks Donna, that is about what I have been doing, relaxing for a short spell before the rush hits me. Gods Blessings, Gabby
Donna, I'm here too, just watching the traffic on different lists for links. Reba > << Its lonely out here all by myself. >> > > > > > ==== SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST Mailing List ==== > Want to search for a surname in RootsWeb archives > http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl > >
Shirley, Are these the same ones that are found in Franklin co.,GA? They are not related to mine right now, but there is a write up about Van Davis, Sr and the family in the History of Franklin co. It says this family was originally from Newberry,SC. If you can give me some dates and spouse names if you have them I can check and see if there are any matches in the book. Kristy
Hi List, my name is Dena and I am searching for anybody that has access to a 'slave census'. I am looking for the Green family, names (although I doubt if they will show up, but I do have ages and a Bradley CO, census for 1870), Perry, Laura, Easter, Mike, and Pricilla. They moved to Arkansas in the 1860s as they do appear on the 1870 Bradley Co. Clay Township, Warren County Census. Just thought I would jump in there and try. Thanks, Dena from Pittsburg, Ca. (San Francisco Bay Area).
I am interested in learning about Kings Mountain. Was it once in NC? I believe one of my ancestors died there -- WILSON. Still here and trying to track down as many of Lt. William Grant's descendents. Some of the lines married into it are Simmons, Clark, Cox, Davis, Whitfield, Mason, Moss, Forrester, Miller, Moore, Greer, Bates, Sullivan, Richardson, Ables, Lanier, Gilbert, Adams, Kilgore, Roach, Marshall, Frost, Holland, Johns, Daniels, Treadaway, Patterson, and Smith to name a few. The file I have contains over 1200 people that I have been able to round up since last October. All of this is documented by me. My records run from 1812-1970's. I am missing a ton of people, so If you need to ask a question please do so. I will be glad to answer. Kristy 4th great grand-daughter of Lt. William Grant 3rd great grand-daughter of Noah Grant, Sr. Orr's Reg. Co. G
Hi Lorrie, I'm Dena, and I was having the hardest time trying to find my husbands mothers side of the family in Texas (Rusk County), then, I met this lady by the name of LouAnn. Do you know her? She might just do research for all of Texas, she found for me what no body has been able to find....his mothers side of the family...the whole census. Her e-mail address is LAPL@worldnet.att.net, try her out, I bet if she can't find out anything for you..she can refer you. Have a wonderful evening. Dena.
Hi Donna, I was just kidding, I know, It's been really quiet. I belong to a couple of lists and right now....All Quiet!!. I don't know, maybe it's because school has started again or something. During the summertime, I would rather be online then looking at Jerry Springer. I was going crazy, I almost started to call him and make up something, I was so board. But, I work for the School District in food services, only 4-5 hours per day, but, it's work and I have been away from the computer for a couple of weeks ( I mean all day long when Jerry or Perry Mason wasn't on), but I guess we just have to wait until the weekend for some action. Good talking to ya!! Dena from Pittsburg, Ca. (San Francisco Bay Area).
Can anyone tell me about a Henry L. Moore, who lived in Starr in the 1840's or so? I am tracing the possibility that he may be related to my maternal grandmother. I am told that he died in the Civil War in Mississippi in 1863...I would love to correspond with someone who knows about his descendants. Thank You!!! Sorry, Lorrie, if I got you all excited. Looks like I was having an old age attack and got it confused with William Cording and Mary Satchwell. Kinda close, but not what you were needing. So sorry. donna ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lorrie" <lorriet@mindspring.com> To: <SC-OLD-PENDLETON-DIST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2000 10:03 PM Subject: [SC-OPD] Hello!
