Hello, I'm also researching the same area for my gr gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/Brisky and his wife Elizabeth Merck/Mark. Around 1789. Anyway, In my researching I found that many families migrated around 1830 together from SC to GA around troup and harris countys mostly, and then to chambers County,AL many lines and counties changed. I have a copy of the Heritage of Chambers County,AL book by Heritage Publishing Co, and you maybe able to get a copy to look at through your inner library loan dept of your local library. It's free. Adams are listed on many many pages. I have found decendents for many families who started out in SC area. Baldwin is also listed on page 83 in either marriage to Buckelews or Archibald calhoun family. Hester family also listed on many pages connected with marriages. Might be worth checking into it. Good luck Also what is nice is those who sent articles in their names and addresses are listed for contact for family history. Hi, on any list you will receive postings to who ever signs on to the bulletin board. That's how you can look at it like a big bulletin board. Everyone uses it. Good Luck In my researching my briskey/Brisky grandfather line I have found that many families migrated together around 1830's. Many first to GA and then to chambers County,AL and surrounding areas. Lines and counties changed. I have a copy of the heritage of chambers county,al book by heritage publishing. And in this book there is a Jeames W. Howell Family probably decedents of your line. I have located many decendents for other families who started out in SC area. It might be worth a trip to your local library and ask the inner library loan dept to order a copy to look at. It is free. And I find them wonderful resource for outdated books and materials. At least ours is geared for genealogy. Good luck. Email me seperately and mention name and page 166/167 and I'll send more info and a contact person for you for the family. Hello, Of the name of Howell, my ancestor William Hay was married to Mary Howell. They were in the Richland County area of SC in 1750-1784. William Hay died in 1784. Mary his wife separated from him about 1776. As for the parents of Mary, I do not know for sure. There were several Howells in the area, Arthur, William and Thomas. I do not think any of them were her father, more likely brothers but I have no proof of that. As for the name of Hale, the first wife of Matthew Talbot was Mary Hale. Matthew Talbot married second Agnes Janeway Hay, the wife of David Hay who died about 1782. David Hay was the son of Mary Howell and William Hay. I have no idea if any of this connects to your Howell or Hale. Billie Sutton Smith
