    2. David S. Payne
    3. Karen In SC, I understand they can be fined up to $50,000 per grave. Call the sherriff and get him to serve a warrant. The descendants of the cemetery own the cemetery according to SC law. so you don't have to buy it. It is already yours. See http://chicora.org/sc_cemetery_law.htm http://www.savinggraves-us.org/sc/index.htm David [email protected] wrote: I went to see the grave of my ancestor William Lynch and his wife Ann Moon. It has been taken over by the Table Rock Golf community.,And IT'S FOR SALE. The grave is located on lot #50, on Falcon Crest Road. The bulldozer has the stone tuned on it's side, and the Revolutionary Marker is gone. William Lynch's g-granddaughter was Jane Lynch who married George Washington Whitmire. If there are any attorneys in the group, can you please tell me what I can do to get the grave restored and a right of way for the family to get to the grave once lot 50 is sold. All help and any suggestions GREATLY appreciated. Karen Patterson David S. 2. Hello, Thanks for filling in some of my gaps in the Elrod family. I can add this. Elizabeth Richardson Moore was born Jan 2, 1796 in North Carolina and died June 8, 1872. She is buried in the George Elrod Cemetery near Shiloh Church. If anyone is interested in the parents of Elizabeth Richardson Moore and George B. Elrod, I can supply that history. Will be glad to share. Elizabeth Ashmore

    3. Sorry, I don't. I've been concentrating on Harvey, tring to prove that he is the father of my g-grandmother, Mary Kelly who married 1st Lawerence Ellison and after his death, my g-grandfather Tandy Thompson. Will look at the probate papers when I get them to see if there is any info there that might help you. Caroline ----- Original Message ----- From: "A. 3. Thanks Kim, I have George Elrod born Dec. 21, 1791 in NC and died (different date) Dec. 4, 1855 in Anderson County, SC. I have Elizabeth Richardson Moore, no dates. I have George as a child of Isaac Elrod April 26, 1769 NC-bef. 1843 and Elizabeth Nancy Stanton born 1773. Always nice to get another piece of the puzzle. A. 3. Beverly, I don't have any estate papers on Elisha Kelly, Sr., but he is the father of my ancestor Harvey Kelly. I tried the sites given by Darrell for the OPD website, but they could not be found. I always get the SC Gen. Soc. with this address: www.scgen.org Click on chapters and scroll down to the OPD site. Any of the 20 chapters of the society can be gotten from this site. OPD chapter has the Kelly info posted, plus numerous other families, including some that you will need to go with Elisha Kelly. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Derrell Oakley Teat" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, February 23, 2004 9:14 PM Subject: [SC-OPD] FW: {not a subscriber} Elisha Kelly, Sr. > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jim and Beverley Ferrell [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Monday, February 23, 2004 7:04 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: {not a subscriber} Elisha Kelly, Sr. > > > Can someone help me with the family of Elisha Kelly, Sr. and his family, > children and parents. 3. Jane, In 1880 Greenville Co.,SC census there is an Elisha Kelly, b. SC age 30. with wife Talitha, age 31 that have a Joseph E. age 7, named as a son. Parents & children are all b. SC This Elisha might be a grandson of the older Elisha that had sons Harvey & Elisha, Jr. This one would join you in with the Kellys already in Anderson and you would not have to worry about the chn. of D. F. Kelly saying their father was MO, or D. F. himself saying his father was b. MO. I don't know anything about this Elisha, but someone might. It is not unusual for Anderson people to have relatives across the county line in Greenville. I ran across a Harvey and Mancel both that belonged to a Civil War Co. from around Williamston and they were killed in the CW. I thought this might be my Harvey, as he had disappeared, but this one turned out to be only 18, much too young for mine. But I found both Harvey & Mancel in the 1860 Greenville Co. census, in households of people who did not carry the Kelly name. This census for Elisha is from the 1880 online census. Census place was Oaklawn, Greenville Co. p 113A ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2004 11:18 PM Subject: [SC-OPD] Joe Kelley > I am on the hunt for my allusive Joe again, my apologies to those who have read all of this before and to those of you who subscribe to the different list I am posting this to. > > My brick wall Joe Kelley of Anderson SC. The shooting according to newspaper accounts was due to bad blood between Poore and Kelley and had nothing to do with their professions. I have found 2 newspaper articles on the shooting, but nothing about when Poore went to trial. I would love to know more. I need help and direction to find out more!!!! The fire at the Williamston courthouse supposedly destroyed all records. If you can direct me or have any information that might help me I would greatly appreciate your being in touch. I do know that Franklin Kelley went by Doc Kelley. Would there be records of the trial in Anderson County, where would I find them. Does anyone know what type of records were kept then? When did they start keeping transcripts of trials. Thank you, Jane [email protected] __________________________________________________________________ Introducing the New Netscape Internet Service. 3. Jane, There were transcripts of trials from the very beginning--or at least notes, dockets and journals. Anderson county should have notes of most everything tried in that county since the late 1820s, early 1830s. If the case was tried there, there was probably a record. The question then becomes, have the documents been archived and if so, to which archive have they been sent. A good bet would be the SC Dept of Archives and History. If, on the other hand, it became a state or federal case, you would be looking in different places to trace the records. State court cases, if archived may also be at SCDAH but Federal cases are probably in Atlanta at the National Archives Branch back in the textual research area. They may still have the actual case file. I have found them from the late 1800s. This Janie Kelley you mention as being born in 1914. Do you know who she married? 2. For your Alabama side there is a great book and many decendents of those from SC are in this book and the family who sent the articles name and addresses are there. It's a book called Heritage of Chambers County,AL book by Heritage Publishing Co. You maybe able to obtain a copy through your inner library loan dept at your local library. It's usually a free service. Might well be worth it.
