    3. Have you looked for any deeds for your Nicholas Briskey/Brishey? They are going to give you the best info on where they had their homestead. If you have looked for deeds for Nicholas and have not found anything then I would look for deeds for his neighbors. I noticed on the 1790 that the closest neighbors were Patrick Gibson, Robert Martin, Jesey Morris, and Wm M. Carter. Have you looked for deeds on these folks? It looks to me like they are living in the Abbeville area of OPD. 3. My huband was a member of Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church when he lived in that area. He said it was organized in the 1774. It has a very small membership don't know if anyone has put any of the cemetery, etc. information on the internet. There appear to be a lot of Steels in that area. The church is in Chester County, SC. There is info about the church in the York County Historical Society webpage. www.yorkcounty.org and look at the history center. The church address is: 3087 Fishing Creek Church Road, Chester, SC 29706-4413 phone number is 803.789.3067. Chester County borders York County. Hope this helps. 2. Hello, I'm also researching the area for my gr gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/Brisky and his wife Elizabeth Mark/Merck. And in my researching I found that around 1830's many families migrated together, many to ga and then to Chambers County,AL or their decendents did. I have located many family decendents for others through a book I have called Heritage of Chambers County,AL by Heritage Publishing Company and in this book are Jimmie Dora Thompson Sanders and Olen Hobson Sanders families. page 251/252 with pictures. Also what is nice is the decedent who wrote the articles name and address are under each for contact. Might be worth a trip to your local library and ask them if they can order a copy to look at through the inner library loan dept. It's usually free. Good luck Sandel [email protected] Seattle Surnames: Briskey,Brisky,brisque,Demastus,Sutton,Meadows,Hodnett,Moore,McIntosh,Leverett,Mark/Merck (States SC,GA, Chambers County,AL, Washington State, TX and france)

    3. In 1865 Elisabeth Smith Sanders, widow of Squire Joseph Sanders, forced into probate the estate of Squire Joseph Sanders. She named his heirs as defendants, their six children, plus Elizabeth M. Keith, and Elizabeth L. Allen. Does anyone have the two Elizabeths, or know their connection to Squire Joseph and Elisabeth Smith Sanders? This happened in present day Oconee County.

    2. Hello again, Also in the Heritage of Chambers County,AL book by Heritage Publishing there is three pages of Clements. I find most of the families from the abbeville area moved around 1830's many for land grants. Many to GA and then onto Chambers County,AL. I have found many decendents for other families this way. And what is nice is names and addresses of the decendents are listed in this book under the article for contact. I wish you good hunting. Sandel [email protected] Seattle

I have a copy of the Heritage of Chambers County,AL book by heritage publishing co and in this book are many pages of Stewarts, probably connected to church, school and marriages. Hello, I'm also researching the same area in SC, also many families migrated together around 1830's for land grants in GA around troup and harris counties, and later moved on to Chambers County,AL many lines and counties etc changed. I have a copy of the heritage of chambers county,al book by heritage publishing co and in the index it states several pages for atkins family (probably connected with church's, schools and marriages. You might go to your local library and ask them to try to order a copy through your inner library loan dept. Usually it's free. Also Morgan is very big in the book and there is a morgan county in al. You will probably find these are decendents of these original families or the families themselves. I have found many for others this way.
