    3. Sorry, some folks, including myself will get this message 3 times. Just don't want to miss a possible contact who can help me out. I am interested in information on the Partain family of early Edgefield Co., SC. According to informatino from the Leonardo Andreas files on the Coursey family, one Elizabeth Partain married John Coursey who died in 1812. Recently got the following wills and am trying to see how they connect. ___________________ Will of Charles Partain, filed July 10, 1812 Box 43 Pkg 1819 [written 26 Sept, 1796] In the Name of God Amen, I Charles Parten of Edgefield Co, and the state of South Carolina, .. make this my last will and testament... First I give and bequeath to my four daughters, Mildred Holmes, Agness Burges, Hannah Raborn, and Ann Salter one Shilling Sterling to each to be levied out of my Estate and no more by reason I have given them their portion already. I give and bequeath to my Eldest son William Partin four hundred and forty acres of Land lying on Rocky Creek in the County aforesaid. I give to my two sons Charles Parten and Ezekiel Parten two hundred acres of land lying on Mine Creek to be Equally divided between them by the Executors hereafter named. I give and bequeath to my Beloved wife Ann Parten and my Son Charles and my son Ezekiel Parten and my daughter Phebe Parten all my stock of every kind and my my household furniture to be Equally divided among them at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named . I do appoint Arthur Watson and my son Charles Partin the sole Executors of this my LWT to see the same Legally performed after my Decease and I do herby revoke...[other] this twenty-sixth day of Sept. 1796. Dec 1813: The Estate of Charles Partain Sr. in account with Charles Partain, Jr. Paid: William Coursey legatee $60.47 Ezekiel Partain Legatee $60.47 Charley Partain exer (son) $60.47 The following made payments for sundrie purchases: William Partain, Charles Partain, William Raborn, Ezekiel Partain, William Coursey, Jordan Leopard, James [C] Douglass, John Rogers, Jeremiah Mobley Jr. [On account Dec, 1813.] Received payments from the Estate of Jen'd Riddle and William Riddle both deceased. _____________ So found these estate records for the RIDDLES: Edgefield Probate Box 44-1860 - Jedathan Riddle. William Riddle and Catherine Riddle admx. died before March 1812. Citation published at Horns Creek 17th April, 1812 Adminstrative Bond: April 17, 1812 William Riddle, David Burns, and William Blackburn. Catherine Riddle certifies that she has no intention of administering her husband's estate and she wishes Wm Blackburn to administer July 29, [1814] /s/ Catherine Riddle. William Riddle was granted letters of Administration, but he has since died. Therefore, William Blackburn was given full power to administer the estate, August 12, 1814 Bondsmen: Wm Blaklburn.
