Carolyn and Paul: You guys need to be on the lookout for Equity Court records for the county of residence. This is where guardianship was established. Ask the library in the involved county what records they hold. Ask the South Carolina Department of Archives and History as well. I have found a gold mine of genealogical information in these records. Good luck.
