Audrey: Who is the John White who was the witness here. In Benton Co. AL I have located a John White and wife Rachel who were the parents of Mary Ann White who married the next year my Edward A. Cothran nicknamed JUDGE. That US Census record was for the year 1850. According to that Census John White was born in SC and so was his wife Rachel and daughter Mary Ann White. Mary Ann was 21 that year. I believe he then may have left the state and went into AR into a place called Hamburg in Ashley Co. So do you have any idea as to who John White may have been? Gail
Audrey: I should have said, I don't think this is that same man but giving the fact that the one I found was rather old I think about 68 or so at the time of the 1850 I believe he could have been a son to this man that you have here, this is why I ask. I am hoping to find out maybe from a White Researcher where this line went to later on down the line. Gail
