Good Friday Morning, In the time frame of this grandfather of mine, if he was born around 1808 in South Carolina, and if the area was the Old Edgefield District...could some of you who are more familiar with research in this area please recommend some sources I should pursue? Could John H. Parker be the Henry Parker who married one of the Smith daughters in Edgefield? Other Smith daus. married Runnels, Williams, and Boddie. Do any of these names ring a bell? ================================ email screened by Norton AntiVirus 2002 ================================ ----- Original Message ----- From: "shadri" <shadri@perry.gulfnet.com> To: <SC-Genealogy-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 11, 2002 12:32 PM Subject: [SC] John H. Hi Helen, I have no idea. All I have is their names (John H. & Honor), that is what I'd like to find out, who their parents were or possible siblings. The timeframe is so frustrating when trying to find data from the Census, since names other than head of household weren't listed until 1850. I sure thank you for your response. Another Parker researcher pointed out to me that I had some data on Daniel J. Parker, one of the sons of John H. & Honor mixed up with another Daniel J. Parker. I do so appreciate folks taking the time to do things like that! Maybe it will lead to us all being helped. As to your question about the other surnames. I do not know of any connection to them at this time. I don't find the names in my data. There are some Williams, but more recent in the mid to late 1900s. I do have a Williams connection on my paternal side, my gg-grandmother was Elizabeth B. "called Eliza" Williams, I don't know ANY thing about her family yet. She married my gg-grandfather [obviously ;-) ] William Riley Driver, 24 December 1865 in Suwannee County, Florida. Thanks again. Sharon Could John H.
