Looking for information on James and Mary Stokes Catoe, The only information I can find is that they were married, May,15,1870, by Rev. James Erwin Rodgers ( South Carolina Magazine of Ancestral Research, Volumn VI, Number 3, Summer, 1978) I have the death certificate for their son John Wesley Catoe, Certificate # 17783; DOB March 26,1870 SC; DOD September 30, 1929 Kershaw County, SC; Father - James CATO; Mother - Mary STOKES; married; Spouse - Sarah Jane OUTLAW; Sex -male; Race - white. I also have his obituary but it does not mention his parents or any siblings, John W. CATOE Camden Chronicle, Camden, SC October 4, 1929 John W. Catoe ,60, died at his home on Fair street, Sunday after a short illness. Mr. Catoe had suffered a stroke of paralysis only a short time ago. For the past several years Mr. Catoe had resided in Camden, but before coming to Camden was a farmer in the Marshall's church section. He is survived by his widow and the following children, Mrs. J.T. Folsom, and Mrs. Clinton Kelly of Bishopville; Furman Catoe, Ralph Catoe, Gary Catoe, Eugene Catoe and Marvin Catoe. His funeral and burial occurred at Marshall's church on Monday, services be conducted by, Rev. G.P.
