    2. HI Velma - The Estes name actually started out in my records as Ewstas in 1494 and went to Eastye had many more variations. My Eastes name abt 1800 and close relatives spell it Eastus. The Eustace surname may have evolved from the ewstas too in England. Phonetics as well as personal preferences played a big part in our present day surnames!!
