I have been told there is a listing in the July 1901 issue which lists those that served in SC 5th Regiment. My Thomas Donaldson enlisted in the SC 3rd Regiment= on the same day others were enlisting in the 5th. Later the 3rd merged with the 5th Regiment. I shall appreciate help tracking down a copy of that magazine, or a Xerox, or anything! 3. Gloria, I was at the York County, SC library today. I found the July 1901 edition of The South Carolina Historical and Genealogical Magazine published quarterly by The South Carolina Historical Society, Charleston, SC. I hope this is the magazine you wanted. I could not find your Thomas Donaldson but it does reference a Lt. John Donaldson commissioned June 18, 1775. He was in the First Company of Rangers. This Lt. John Donaldson is also referenced in the July 1900 issue. I copied the pages that had him listed along with some of the other pages that I thought might have information that could be helpful to you. I would be happy to mail them if you want them.
