    3. Do some of you historian/genealogists on this SC list know what kind of grants were issued in the area of Saluda River /Orangeburgh/Edgefield about 1789/90? I was told once they were a State Grants. Did they have a name? Were they to REV soldiers? Thanks for your help in advance, Joyce Britt Dunning

    3. Hi Joyce, Yes, the grants were usually state grants made by the governor based on Rev War service. I have noticed a number of these made in the 1780s.
