    3. Anyone researching the above surnames/families of SC may be interested in these early Maryland records. PEDEN, Jr: JORDAN "On August 14, 1723, John JORDAN, son of John JORDAN, late of North Carolina, conveyed to Richard TILGHMAN (TILLMAN), in consideration of L50 current money, 935 acres called Forlorn Hope, granted to Robert SMITH and sold to John JORDAN, Sr. and John JORDAN, Jr. and their heirs (reefer to the records of Kent County, Maryland), lying at the head of Chester River on the east side of Shewell Branch near one mile from Ducke Creeke road. Witnesses were Thomas Hynson WRIGHT, James EARLE, and Benjamin HALLOWELL. Acknoledged before Arthur EMORY and Solomon CLAYTON. "Benjamin HALLOWELL, of North Carolina, made oath that for about twelve years last past he has been acquainted with John JORDAN, Sr. and Charity his wife and that they did acknowledge John JORDAN, Jr. who is almost blind and had been for some time, to be their lawful son. John JORDAN, Sr. has been dead about three years. (Ref: Queen Anne’s County Land Records, Book One, 1701-1725, by R. Bernice LEONARD (1992), p. 88) "John JORDAN and Jane JORDAN were both buried on February 8, 1708 in St Paul’s Parish, Kent County, Maryland. Mary Ann JORDAN married Samuel DAY on February 17, 1723 in St Peter’s Parish, Talbot County, Marlyand. (Ref: Maryland Eastern Shore Vital Records, 1648-1725, by F. Edward WRIGHT (1982), p. 26.) "John JORDINE (sic), planter, of Kent County, Maryland, died leaving a will to wife Mary, executrix, and heirs (unnamed). (Ref: Maryland Calendar of Wills, Volume III, 1703-1713, p. 125). "Mary HUTCHISON (HUCHISON) died in Kent County, Maryland and left a will dated February 19, 1721 (proved June 30, 1722). She left to her husband Robert HUTCHISON, 100 acres called "Hav Att All" on a branch of Worton Creek, which had been bequeathed to her by her former John JORDINE. (Ref: Maryland Calendar of Wills, Volume V, 1720-1726, p. 111.)."
