    3. Well, since I started this little 'rumble', please let me close it off with one more comment. I can see the privacy issue being of concern --- I can also understand about one's finding living relatives, in order to find info about those who are gone. My concern (in my first comments) was the privacy issue. So, I hope that finding a cousin does not startle them to the point that they are frightened off!! I have been in touch with two or three such 'cousins' who will no longer answer my e-mail (which did not bounce!!) just because I tried to ask a question which seems (I suppose) to have rubbed them the wrong way!! So, I find that dealing with live 'cousins' is very difficult, at least in some cases!! May you have better results than have I!! Regards. 3. Joe, A little psychology... Sometimes no matter what we do some folks simply aren't interested, but I also found that if I offered to send them their own family in a manner they could understand, most of the time they would send me information. I have sure appreciated all the help I received from relatives when I began my search, but also know of at least one Bible that would help tremendously if ONLY she would share. Human nature is not always easy to understand, right? Audrey------------- I can sure relate to that!!!!! To top it all off it's my own mother that has the family Bibles. I could probably find the information in them that I have been searching for. 3. Gosh, Jane, my mother seemed so pleased to help two of her daughters when we became interested in genealogy; am sorry yours doesn't see this as including her also, and likewise, the importance of keeping family records. Thanks for response. 3. Joe, isn't it odd how the living don't want to share information (some of them anyway). I have found that the closer the connection of the relative, the more closed mouth they are, unless of course, they want the information you have :-) I just wish more people would share. I have found very distant relatives all over the US and they are the best to work with :-) Oh well, that was just my two cents worth <g> I wish everyone lots of luck in shaking your tree!
