    3. You may want to look at early Mississippi Territory and Early Alabama territory before Alabama became a state in 1819. Some of those Vaughan (Vaughn) families were in Alabama when it became a state. I noticed this because I have a friend who was a Vaughan and I notice things that may be her family. The information which shows where these Vaughans were is in a websitre regarding War of 1812 soldierse in Ancestry.com I think. If you don`t find it there it may have been on Family Treemaker on net. 3. My wife was a VAUGHN and we have had little luck in finding much about them. What we know is that James Isaiah VAUGHN born in Richmond< VA., in 1842, was in Greene County, Ala., by the time of the Civil War and served in an Alabama Regiment. His first marriage ended in divorce or death, we don't know which, and James with his first son John came to Yalobusha County, Miss., where he married twice again and raised large families by these wives. John, the grandfather of my wife, married once to a Mary GREENWOOD and raised a large family some of them remain to date. This is basically all the info we have. Do you see a connection?? Jim Allen.
