On a current map of the metro Columbia area, there is designated along the Congaree River "Granby Landing". It is located just off Old State Road (an extention of State Street in Cayce, SC) South of Cayce and North of I-77. Old Fort Granby was probably in this general area. Fort Granby was the site of a Rev War battle May 1781. My only interest in this topic is that I find the Old Granby area historically interesting. linda > There probably was a ferry at Granby that crossed the Congaree River > and provided transportation to and from Columbia. In checking my map, that > section of the Congaree is the dividing line between Lexington and Richland > counties. > > Monya
