Hi I have to agree with the position of not posting information on the living. Most people honor this unwritten rule. There are plenty of resources available to find information on the living without using genealogy avenues. Also, any resourceful PI or debt collector will use any avenue available, legal or illegal, to gather information about or to locate people. In fact, most of what you put on a genealogy list in the way of a query will likely show up in a general search on google or any other search engine. linda
I think the beginning post was about looking for living people not posting information on living people, which is really two different topics. Some one putting you in touch with a living person that may help you with your family lines is one thing. Someone posting an entire family line of information with info on living persons is totally different. The original post that I answered was about looking for living people not being genealogy, that genealogy only included dead people. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda" <mhoose@sc.rr.com> To: <SC-Genealogy-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 10:59 AM Subject: [SC] Info on Living People > Hi > I have to agree with the position of not posting information on the living. > Most people honor this unwritten rule.
