    3. Gail, here are 2 wills for 2 different William Cockerhams. One from Macon CO NC and the other from Buncombe CO NC. ALOB, Vol. VIII #7, p. 87-99: "p. 71. 10 April 1841.. I, William Cochran, being very weak in body, but of perfect mind & memory. I give unto my two youngest sons Moses & Nathaniel 200 acres of land, 100 acres where we now live, the other tract adjoining Swan Cochran. I give unto my two daughters Jestin & Harriett 100 acres of land where on a trashing machine now stands called the Baseter tract to be equally divided between them. I give unto my daughter. Clara Rodgers one cow & calf. I give unto my two little grandchildren, children of E.B. Praytor a two year old cow brute a piece. I give unto my son Swan $5 and the balance of my property of stock, land, household & kitchen furniture I give unto Moses, Nathaniel, Jestin and Harriett, they are to take care of their mother and support her decently out of the same and I hereby make ordain Moses & Nathaniel Cochran executors. Wit; Thomas H. Burnett & E.B. Praytor.. Signed William X Cochran.. Proved on oath of E.B. Praytor in July Session 1841. Deed Book E,Macon CO NC: DEED BOOK E: 147. COCKERHAM, DAVID COCKERHAM & the infant or youngest child, name not known, all children of DANIEL S. and CELIA COCKERHAM: one new green painted wagon and gearing, bay horse, sorrel horse, bay steed, gray mare, black mare, also 7 beds and furniture, 150 yards of domestic cloth & all the cooking utensils at DANIEL S. COCKERHAM'S. December 16, 1846. Wm. Cockerham. Witt: E. Dowdle. Ack. in December 1846 court. Registered January 9, 1847. The first William is a about 10 years older than the 2nd William. The William born ca. 1769, married as his 2nd wife Betsy Stuart. E.B. Praytor married a daughter of William Cockerham and E, B; Praytor mother was Nancy Stuart, cousin of Betsy Stuart Cockerherham. The Praytor or PRATHER´s were from the Grenville CO SC area. Then on the 2nd will, Daniel S. Cockerham is Daniel STEWART Cockerham. This is what has me confused.
