Here's a confusing one. Name of husband doesn't seem to fit, so don't know if there are two Bell Boones or not. The following obituary was transcribed from the clipping in the Scrapbook of Ella Ruth Hazel Trotter. Mrs. Bell B. Bledsoe - Saluda, SC Aug. 18 [no year or name of newspaper with the clipping] Mrs. Bell Bonne Bledsoe, 68, of the Hickory Grove Section, ided in a Greenwood Hospital at 2 pm today. She had been in declining health for the past several years. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at Bethel Methdodist Church on the Johnson highway Thursday at 4:30 pm.... Burial will be in the church cem. Ramey Funeral Home in charge. Besides her husband Benjamin R. Bledsoe, five daughters and one son survive. they are: Mrs. Rowan Bowers and Ben L. Bledsoe, both of Columbia [SC]; Mrs. William P. Brennan, Charlotte [NC]; Mrs. Emmett C. Bennett, Atlanta [GA]; Mrs. Malcolm R. Banks and Mrs. Scott Allen, both of Saluda [SC]; one sister, Mrs. E. L. Carpenter, Augusta, Ga. and 11 grandchildren. Mrs. Bledsoe was a niece of the late D. A. G. Ouzts of Greenwood. The cem. records for Bethel Methodist do not include any Bledsoes. Since I have no cem. record, I cannot figure out the date of the obit. HOWEVER: The following is listed in the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cem. Records. Bledsoe, [Martha (Mattie)] Belle BOONE May 27 1886 - Aug 18 1954 This cem. record has her buried beside Bledsoe, Berryman R. [Russell] Sep 6 1881 - Jul 23 1973 rather than a Benjamin R. Bledsoe??? What is your take from this? Did the cemetery transcribers get name wrong. Seems like his children would have given the info. for the obit and would know their father's name??? Billie
