    3. I have been reading the Pace thread with some interest, but this is the first chance I have had to jump into the chat. I recently bought "OUR COLONIAL ANCESTORS..1619-1799" by Mr. Bruce A. Howard, P.O> Box 414,Quitman, Miss. 39355. The book deals with the PACE family and all of the families it has married into. It is often quoted from on the PACE GENFORUM. On page 179, "Another of the children of Francis PACE, was John PACE. He was born in Prince George Co., VA in the year 1748. As a young man he left home and went down into the Northwestern part of Brunswick Co. where he met, courted and married Miss Ann Russell, dau of Richard and Margaret Russell. This family resided in a number of places during the early years, lived in Granville Co.,NC for a period and then went back to VA. and lived at their former home in Lunenburg Co. until the end of the REvolutionary War. They later carried their family down into Spartanburg Dist, SC and finally into Greenville Dist.,SC where John died at an advanced age in the year 1825. The children of this family were: Isaac, Richard Russell, Stephen, John, Jr., Martha, wife of Benjamin Langford, Jerimiah R., Twitty, Francis, and Elizabeth PACE, wife of JOHN W. COTHRAN. This man is the direct ancestor of the author and the details of his life and those of his chidlren and grandchildren will be given in great detail in the second volume of this work." Hope this helps someone. You might consider writing to the author for any further research he has that was not included in this first volume. I am a descendant of the PACE family.
