Dear Jerry, You clicked on one of my off-site links, that being one that leads to a free 14 day use of Ancestry.com's usual pay-to-view databases. I think the free trial is wonderful; that's why I link to it for researchers to use if they want to. :-) I'm sorry you were disappointed but I hope you will go back and look on my pages again because you missed my databases and search engine! http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tousa_sc.shtml About half way down is a large yellow search box. It is my custom built Olive Tree Search engine, it's free to use, and it searches about 75 ships to S. Carolina. These are ships found on various sites on the Internet (free sites) and I set up the search engine to make it easier for researchers to find an ancestor from one spot. I'm working hard to find more ships online, so that I can increase the numbers on my South Carolina pages. The second link I gave http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/filmnos_al-fl-ga-sc.shtml has the film numbers from NARA & FHC for offline searches for Passenger Lists to North America 1820 to 1957. Researchers who can't find what they need in the online lists will be able to use my list of film numbers to order films for offline searching. I hope everyone enjoys and finds an ancestor or two! She's not kidding, Jerry, Olive Tree Genealogy is THE place to start when looking for ships passenger list research. There are new passenger lists being added to her site all the time. You are going to find links to Ancestry all over the online genealogy world. If you choose not to subscribe, please don't discount the valuable data found on the rest of these sites.
