I am new to this list. And I'm sure I have got a lot to do for what I am trying to find. I have been doing research on my husbands side with the last name of Vaughan/Vaughn for a very long time. As far back as I can go is 1762 with the name of James Vaughn b. abt 1762 SC. What town or county - I have no idea. I do know that he married a Jane (maiden name unknown) in SC in 1785 and had two sons that were both born in SC. John b. 1786 and George b. 1790. Again, what town or county? I do not know who James's parents were but that the family originated in Wales. If I could just find some information in SC then maybe - just maybe, I could find where in Wales they originated. I have check ship's registry's and have found some Vaughan/Vaughn's that came over prior to 1762. But they all came from the England area. Not that this couldn't be a possibility, but would rather focus on Wales first and see what I can find. This all seems like an impossible task, but I'm not about to give up. So, does anyone have any ideas where I can keep looking. I'm open for any suggestions. Thank you, DeLories Vaughn Washington State
