A check of earliest land records in Conway and Pulaski Counties gives the following info which might give you a few clues: 27 Nov 1820 = Chancey JONES, brother, and the other heirs-at-law of Enoch B. JONES, decd., late a private in Greenwood's Co., of the 16th regiment of infantry....bounty warrant of 160 acres in Conway Co. 27 Nov 1820 = Joseph JONES, late a private in Walker's Company, 35th regiment of infantry....bounty of 160 acres in Conway Co. 25 Feb 1822 = Elizabeth JONES, mother, and the other heirs-at-law of James Champion, dec'd., late a private in Capt. Cummings' Company, 4th regiment of infantry.... land in Pulaski Co. [Was Elizabeth married first to a Champion and second to a Jones ???] 10 May 1822 = Jesse JONES, Senr., father and heir of Jesse JONES, dec'd., late a private in Capt.(not_?_clear) company of 20th regiment of infantry.... land in Conway Co. 22 Oct 1823 = Jesse JONES, late a private in Jones' company of 1st regiment of infantry; bounty land of 160 acres in Pulaski Co. ~~~~~~~~ These military units mentioned probably refer to the War of 1812-1814. If you can locate the regimental records online, you might be able to determine the geographical location and learn where these units were formed. If you can locate any or all of these named soldiers, parents, brothers, etc. you will have a better basis on which to work. Best wishes for success in your search.
