    3. Hello Mollie, You families, JONES and STARNES may be from the Laurens District, SC; however, here is a list of names for wills from my SC index of SC. STARNES: STARNES, Aaron Bk C Page 96 UNI. STARNES, Ann Bk 1 Page 3 LRN STARNES, Ebeneser Bk 1 Page 29 LRN STARNES, Jacob Bk 3 Page 413 YRK STARNES, Mary Ann Bk 2 Page 295 LRN STARNES, Peter Bk 1 Page 1/38 FLD Note: I have an abstract of Jacob's, possibly some information from Laurens. My interest in this name has to do with Martha Elizabeth (BARRON) STARNES who m. one of my husband's g grandfather, Thomas Benton BOAZ. We also have a JONES line from Laurens District, but from my records it doesn't look like your and ours connect. However, there is a Jacob and Lewis JONES in Laurens. Perhaps you will hear from others on the List because more than one of us are researching JONES...isn't everybody! Good luck, Audrey ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mollie Molnar" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, September 05, 2004 6:25 AM Subject: [SC] Jones, Tapp, Starnes > Family names listed in subject are those I am researching in South Carolina. Especially looking for my Jones line who are listed in census records as from South Carolina but moved to Arkansas around 1820. The given names for the Jones that I find in the 1820-25 time period are: John, Jacob, Lewis and William. I believe they may have been brothers. Female names during same period are Nancy and Mary. > > My research has shown land obtained by Script warrant following the War of 1812. Don't have copies of original application but there are also petitions for pay for repairs and expenses involved at Pea Patch Island. The only place by that name that I could find was located in the Delaware Bay, is there another location with the same name in S.C.? > > I would really appreciate hearing from anyone working on a Jones line in S.C. > during the 1810 period. Also, any references to allow me to read about Pea Patch Island around 1812, I've tried internet and the historical information is slim. Willing to share information on any of the three families, Tapp, Starnes and Jones. I have quite a lot of information on the Starnes/Stearns family. > > > Mollie in Missouri > > > ==== SC-Genealogy Mailing List ==== > Thank you RootsWeb for all the genealogy resources you have given us! > > ============================== > Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration > Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial. 3. Thanks for the information about the Starnes in S.C., I always appreciate it when someone takes the time to share. I'll file it with my family of that name. I'm pretty well documented with that family, joined a historical society through Charles Stearns and it took a great deal of time but was good for me. I believe in establishing as much history about family as I can. In that list that you sent, I have both the names Ebenezer and Aaron, you can almost trace the family through repeated names of Moses, Shubael, Ebenezer, Aaron, etc. Unfortunately, they often named their sons for a brother. I had not expected to research Jones but after I got a couple of "hits" on information, I'm in the race to find them.
