I think I was mistaken on Dempsey Bonner dying in Texas. Later today I looked up that census, and the Dempsey Bonner in Travis County, Texas', wife was not Nancy Foster. Sorry to lead anyone astray! The Texas Dempsey must have been a different one from the SC one. Dorothy O'Neill
