B. Frank Rushton - Funeral services for B. Frank Rushton, 75, who died at his residence about six miles from Ward in the Bethelehem section Sunday night, were conducted Monday afternoon at Bethlehem Methodis Church by his pastor, the Rev. W. R. Harris, Interment was in the church cemetery. Pall bearers were: Honorary - L. H. Rushton, Olin Rushton, Claud Rushton, W. P. Rushton, W. L> Culbreath, Cleve Derrick, Charlie Mathany, A. T. Johnson, Otis Powell, M. H. Kemp. Active - Willard Rushton, Arvil Rushton, Preston Rushton, Reginal Rushton, Mauldin Quattlebaum, and Delmas Lybrand. Active pall-bearers were grandsons of Mr. Rushton. Mr. Rushton has lived his entire life in this community. He joined the church in early life, and had been a life long member of Bethlehem Methodist Church. He possessed many find traits of character and leaves a wide circle of friends wo regret his [passing]. He was in his usual health until ten days ago he was suddenly stricken and remained in an unconscious condition until death. Fifty years ago this Sept, he married Miss Carrie Smith. They were planniung to celebrate their golden wedding. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Daisy Quattlebaum, Williston; Mrs Nan Nora Wheeler, Johnston; and two sons, Smith Rushton and Duane Rushton, both of Johnston, 19 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Michael Albert (M.A.) DeLoach The 1860 Edgefield Co. census records shows Benjamin Frank as a 1 year old, living in LOTT PO area, near Ward, SC with his parents, initials only: J. R. Note the death certificates state these folks were born in Saluda Co. They were born in the Bethlehem community which is NOW in Saluda Co, SC , but at the time of their birth and that of their parents, it would have been EDGEFIELD DIST, Saluda Regiment, SC.
