    3. Lynda: There is at least one church by each of these names (except New Hope) in Laurens County. I remember another conversation about New Hope and Laurens County and I believe that it too was originally there perhaps, but I can't prove it. The rest of them are positives per the USCGS. See http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form Where it asks you for "Feature Name", leave it blank. For state or territory, select or type South Carolina. For feature type, select "church". Where it asks for county, put in whatever county you want a list for (in this case, Laurens). (For the "Query Variant Name" question, I would suggest checking "yes"). You will now get a handy dandy list of every "church" in the county known to the USCGS both active and historical. You can do the same thing for bridges, schools, towns (populated places), on and on. This is a great research tool, enjoy. Your tax dollars at work! Tolaver Robertson married some of my COMPTON ancestors at their home and they lived in Laurens County as well.
