    3. Hi Lynda, There would be no point in having Lists if we didn't post to same. When families are migrating together as they did during the 1700s and 1800s, probably before, intermarriages show many direct lines we wouldn't have otherwise. Before computers, I did research the hard, but after computers there is so much better and faster information...but, only if we share. 3. Sorry Audrey - guess I did not make myself clear. When the person who is doing the lookups sends the answer to the list ALONG with the original request, there will only be one message - not TWO to read. I was just thinking of saving space in the archives by handling it all in one message - not TWO. If you still do not understand, I will try to explain it again. And yes, I have done research before computers also. Lynda "Audrey E. Pool" wrote: > Hi Lynda, > > There would be no point in having Lists if we didn't post to same. 3. Lynda, I think this is enough on the subject. 3. Not real sure but I think what Lynda is saying, is this: Step 1. Person posts to the list an offer to do a lookup in some book or film or library etc.................and also posts their direct e-mail addy off list. 2. Jane or John Doe requests a lookup off list. 3. When the reply is sent back, it is then sent via the list for all to see and use and enjoy. In this way, both the org. question and the reply are placed onto the list but into a single mailing instead of two seperate ones as we see now. Plus of course the org. post of the offer will show up as well as a single post. But we all should see that offer anyway when we download our mail. That way all the important stuff goes to the list and later archives for the list, but only once instead of a 1000 times at times...............that way saving space at our list archives and time for the readers and subscribers. Is this right Lynda or do I misunderstand what your saying as well?
