Frances Posey (male) written 19 Nov 1787 son Absalom Posey dau Phebe Hollingsworth dau. Nancy Smith dau. Sally Martin dau. Gugay Shuriss Suckey Posey (not a typo on my part) dau. Mary son Benjamin son Far. Milly Posey his wife and Absalom Posey, son, and my true friend Benjamin Hollingsworth, EX/Extrx Witness: Elijah Walker, Benj. Posey, Wm. & James McCarter Proved 14 Jan 1788, Recorded Book A., p. 5. During that time, the Orangeburg Dist included the todays counties of sourthern Aiken Co., parts of Barnwell, Bamberg, Calhoun, Lexington Co SC, as well as Orangeburg.
