Is this Heitman's "List of Officers in the Continental Line" or Historical Register of Officers of the Continental Army. Heitman, Francis B. 1914. 698 pages, includes addendum by Robert H. Kelby, 1932. Indexed (this seems to be on CD). Speaking of old books.. "HISTORY OF THE OLD CHERAWS" is now back in print after many years. It covers the entire area of Chesterfield, Darlington, & Marlboro and was written by the Right Rev. Alexander Gregg, DD. It covers the time period of 1730-1810. I understand the Southern Historical Press has reprinted it. It was first published in 1867. There is a notice in the front of the book that says.."This work contains an account of the aborigines of the Pedee, the first white settlements, their subsequent progress, civil changes, the struggle of the Revolution, and growth of the country afterwards, from 1730-1810 , with notices of families and sketches of individuals. It offers the most complete history of a given section of the State to be found." I understand the book is selling for about $50.00, which is a lot better than some of the ones I saw for sale on the internet for the old copies.
