I use FTM for my files also. I don't know if you can do it, but try to "backup file with the "original file" file. Then when you close the original file, it may load everything into the backup file. It is worth a try. I have gotten helpful suggestions from this list concerning the computer. Obviously I was born 50 years too soon to adapt to this tool. I use FAMILY TREE MAKER as a handler file to hold my data. I picked the name FISHTREE as my original start. I have long seen another file that I did not instigate by the name of FISHTREE..FBK. Obviously this latter file is some sort of self generating back up file. On occasion I have found myself posting to this backup file. I presume that means that some new data is not going to FISHTREE. Today I did some looking and I found that some of my latest finds are indeed, on the backup file, but not on the regular, basic file. And perhaps vice versa. Is there someway that I can make certain that both files have all of the identical information on them?
