Filed Jan 12, 1857 "Sarah Holloway, late of this district and state aforesaid departed this life on or about the 23 day of Feb. 1856, intestate." Lewis E. Holloway identified himself as the son of Sarah E. Holloway and filed for the adm. of her estate. Bond of $10,000 was posted by Lewis E. Holloway, Mathew Mathews and H.H. Mays Jan 26, 1857, which seems to indicate a sizeable estate. Purchasers: $2,570.80 including slaves Elizer (565), Lew/Lev (930) & Ben (1000) S. A. Moore D. Holloway G. W. Holloway H.H. Mays L. E. Holloway ----------------------------------------------------- Some of us working on the Holloway line attach this Sarah as the wife of Douglas Holloway, probable son of Obediah Holloway. Obediah is a bit of a problem as there is confusion as to where he died - VA or SC.
