My THOMPSON line. Phillip W. is Phillip Whitfied THOMPSON. The early WHITFIELD families migrated from Isle of Wight County, VA. Believe they may have been Quaker in VA. Phillip and his first wife, Susan BUTLER, went to Jasper Co, GA before he migrated to AL, marrying his 2nd wife, Margaret (BOWLES) BROWN. Anybody related? Audrey Descendants of Electius Thompson Generation No. 1 1. ELECTIUS1 THOMPSON was born 1750 in , Pr. George, MD, and died December 30, 1840 in , Morgan, AL. He married MARY ELIZA ALEXANDER August 14, 1780 in , Pr. George, MD. She was born Abt. 1760 in , prob MD, and died Bef. January 1827 in , prob AL. He married (2) MARGARET BOWLES in Montgomery County, AL. She was born August 16, 1799. He married (1) SUSAN BUTLER. She died Bef. 1820. Notes for PHILLIP WHITFIELD THOMPSON: Phillip Whitfield Thompson owned land in SW l/4 Section 29 Range 20 T ownship l6 near the community of Merr. In files of his estate papers is a bill for his coffin dated 29 Aug l 836. His wife Margaret Brown Boles Thompson and son-in-law, John Hirston w ere the Administrators of the sale of his real estate. Packet No. 52. During the Civil War Margaret lived with her daughter, Sarah Brown Th ompson Watters, in the Kahatchee community 5 miles North of Fayetteville, AL , Talladega County. My records other than the above on this THOMPSON family, came from a THOMPSON Bible passed down in the POOL family. Phillip Whitfield THOMPSON's first wife was Susan BUTLER, not Margaret BOWLES. Philip W. THOMPSON lived in GA before migrating to AL where he married Margaret (BOWLES) BROWN (widow), according to AL records. Notes for MARGARET BOWLES: Margaret BOWLES was a widow BROWN from my notes of GA records. Some researchers state otherwise, and that her mother was a BROWN, therefore Margaret was Margaret Brown BOWLES. However, Margaret had at least one daughter named BROWN. I am offering to look up names in the Lexington County 1850 Census. I can do this until June 3 when I go on vacation for 2 weeks. You have to remember that Lexington at on time was part of Edgefield, Saluda, Orangeburg, Aiken County. If you know they were in SC I will gladly look in this book that has more research on some families added. It is a wonderful book that the Lexington Genealogical Association did. I bought it and have found so much information on my lines. --
Please forgive my ignorance. Now that I have this information on William Kearse, where do I go from here? Where can I obtain this information? Thanks in advance. Vanessa Gregory Simmons wrote: > William Kearse Vol 2 1826-1856 Book C PAGE 137 or 157 Barnwell Co. SC >

Hi, Could someone please tell exactly what the Will Index contains. Is it just to show that there is one on file or does it contain something specifically about the Will? Also, if you find there is one on file, how would a person obtain a copy of such Will. Thanks, Rose Mary
