    3. Hi, I don't have the will book you mention, but do have a will book of Pendleton County. "p. 40. Heirs...Sheriff's Sale. JAMES GARNER, dec'd owned tract 180 acres, bounded by lands of Patrick NORRIS, Thomas TAYLOR, George MANNING, William PRITCHARD, originally granted to Blake MAULDIN, land sold to John GARNER for distribution to Heirs: Thomas GARNER, **Polley, wife of John STOGNER; Brandley GARNER; Elizabeth, wife of Daniel WILLIAMS; Lucretia, wife of William HILLHOUSE; Susanna, wife of James MYERS*; William GARNER; James GARNER; children of James GARNER to give each distributive shares. Dated 7 Nov 1817. Wit: E. B. BENSON, Jesse P. LEWIS. Rec: 24 Jan 1818." *1. My name was MYERS. **2. Looks like this Polley (Mary) was married to a STOGNER, but perhaps this is not the will you are looking for...? 1. [SC] Sarah Walker marriages???
    2. Lee and Billie Jones
    3. Dear Belinda and Dave, I was forwarded your messages about the Edward LARRIMORE/LARIMORE m Martha because it contained my keywords Edgefield and SC. I read over it and note a descrepancy in some of the info. and that which I have. You stated: Alford/Alfred McCARTY, born: April 22, 1791 in Edgefield County, South Carolina, died: November 1849 in Jasper County, Mississippi, and his wife, Sarah WALKER, born: 1795 in Edgefield County, South Carolina, died: 1877 in Jasper County, Mississippi, daughter of Samuel WALKER and Martha Jefferson BELL. The is confusion about the husband of Sarah Walker as listed in several Equity cases and wills. I have not seen the original yet, but have abstracts from : 1- Carol Wells, Genealogical Abstract of Edgefield Equity Court Records. Bowie, Maryland: Heritage Books, Inc., c. 2002, p. 67-68: Equity Case #99; 2- Edgefield Co., SC Wills 1787-1836 by James E. & Vivian Wooley, 1991 Historical Press, Will of Samuel Walker, Will Bk A, p. 325 /w/ 25 June 1810, /p/ 3 Oct. 1813. 3. Carol Wells, Genealogical Abstract of Edgefield Equity Court Records. Bowie, Maryland: Heritage Books, Inc., c. 2002, Equity Case # 136, Feb 10, 1820. >From these records we have concluded that Sarah Walker was married to Farrow Chaney. Sarah is listed as Sarah Farrow in Equity Case #99, deceased and leaving children and husband. (1821) She is listed as 'Sarah and Wm Mays' in suit # 136 10 February 1820, however Cheney Farrow is the one bringing the suit. As you will see from reading the following there does seem to be confusion. However, after studing all of these documents together , believe the following to be the family of Samuel Walker. Descendants of Samuel Walker [children listed in his will posted below] 1 Samuel WALKER b: Abt. 1750 d: November 08, 1813 in Abbeville Co, SC . +Martha Jefferson BELL b: November 16, 1751 in Albermarle, VA m: 1772 d: in Possibly AL. ..... 2 Martha Jefferson WALKER b: Bef. 1774 ......... +Sterling MITCHELL b: Bef. 1774 d: Aft. 1820 ..... 2 Anna WALKER ......... +William MAYS ..... 2 Sarah WALKER d: Bef. 1821 ......... +Chaney FARROW ..... 2 Rebecca WALKER ......... +James BEAMS/BEANS ..... 2 Rachel WALKER ......... +Hinchey MITCHELL ..... 2 Elizabeth WALKER ......... +Joseph Balus EDDINS ..... 2 Samuel WALKER ..... 2 Lucretia WALKER d: Bef. 1810 [not named in will, but Thomas is mentioned] ......... +Thomas HOLLOWAY b: Bet. 1740 - 1759 Father: George Holloway Mother: Elizabeth Bennett Primary researchers on this family were Judy Russell and Drew Welch. One for daughter Sarah, another for Anna both between the ages of 16-20. The property first mentioned to remain in possession of my wife Martha during her life and then to be divided among daughters and Samuel. I desire that as THOMAS HOLLOWAY has left his children and made no provision for their support that my executors pay to him from my estate five shillings on his lawful application. I desire that the legacies given to my daughter Rebecca and her heirs be under the control of Samuel Walker and Samuel Marsh as her guardian owing to the supposed disability in the body and metal power of her husband James Beans. Unfortunately, Edgefield Equity Case 136 has Sarah as the wife of Wm Mays (although the name is somewhat obscured in the crease), and Anna as the wife of Chaney Farrow. This is the reverse of what is listed in Case 99. One seems to be in error. I hate to throw a monkey wrench into the connections you have made, as I have had the same thing happen. However, we all want our info. to be as accurate as possible. Several of us began this research because we are researching the Holloway line, and Thomas Holloway is listed in Samuel's Will as deserting his children after his wife died. If anyone has more info. on the family of Thomas and Lucretia, we would be very interested. 1 Lucretia WALKER d: Bef. 1810 . +Thomas HOLLOWAY b: Bet. 1740 - 1759 [ Father: George Holloway Mother: Elizabeth Bennett] ..... 2 Samuel HOLLOWAY ......... +Sophia MITCHELL b: 1800 Father: Hinchey Mitchell Mother: Rachel Walker ..... 2 Martha HOLLOWAY ..... 2 Benjamin HOLLOWAY I am not a member of the Walker list, so feel free to forward this on to others for feedback. 1. [SC] Elias FORT and ATKINSON Family
    2. Dolores Pringle
    3. I am not directly searching the FORTs or the ATKINSONs in Sumter Dist., SC, but both families had members who md. into the PRINGLE line there, which is my husband's family, so I have gathered some info on them. First Mary PRINGLE, b. 17 May 1776, Sumter, SC, md. Henry DeWilde ATKINSON; they migrated to GA where they died. I have the will of one James ATKINSON, wf. Elizabeth, who names a dau. Lucy as well as a dau Sylvia SPIGHT. I will gladly send you a transcription of the will if you would like it. Dated 31 Dec 1785. I don't know if our Henry DeWilde ties into this family as he is not mentioned in the will, but I copied it just in case.... Secondly I have Jean PRINGLE, b. 26 Jan 1769, Sumter Dist., SC, who md. Burrell FORT. She died bef. 1819, Sumter Dist., SC. Her husband Burrell FORT was also a son of Elias FORT and wf. Lucy. Following are some of my FORT notes: Taken from "A Family Called Fort". "Burrell Fort is the son of Elias Fort and his wife Lucy. Elias moved to SC ca 1769-70. He sold his land in Edgecombe Co., NC at that time. (Elias is the son of George Fort and brother of Elizabeth Fort who married William Davis.)FLD His children: There may be others as I do not have all the pages of this book. Page 224 Albert Fort b. 1 April 1758 Egbert Fort Josiah Fort Wiley Fort b. ca 1774 Burrell Fort. (The name appears to be Bunell in his will but is given as Burrell in Elias's will and in the Sumter County Index). was born 13 Dec. 1772 and married Jean Pringle, born 26 Jan 1769 on Oct. 4, 1795. She died early after bearing him two daughters. Burrell then married Celia McCoy on Oct. 19, 1819. She was born 2 Nov., 1790. He died testate in Sumter County, SC in 1852 or 53, his wife surviving him. (Redden MCCOY, brother of Celia MCCOY and Elizabeth MCCOY PRINGLE, witnessed the will of James ATKINSON above.) >From the file of Leonardo Andrea - Burrell Fort, a will, in Sumter Aug. 7 1832 pr. 17 Oct 1832...(this proves he died before 17 Oct. 1832) wife Celia Fort , "My second wife: Daughter by first wife listed as Jane Elizabeth Rountree & to have the 300 a land known as Smith Place my three children by my second wife and all under age of 21. Elias was the son of George FORT and unknown wife. Elias had a sister named Elizabeth. Write me for more info on this; I'm happy to share and hope it helps you! 3. I don't know if your James POOL is part of the Laurens group or not; in fact, I forgot about your line of POOL. I suspect your James POOL could be a brother of our John POOL. Refresher for me: Is this it? James POOL, b. ca 1746, Brunswick Co, VA. m. Ursula HUDSON, d/o Samuel HUDSON. Right? I have some confusing notes on this family, but think I will look it over until I understand it better.
