I think a few pages are missing, but I did find some of my son's paternal ancestors listed!!! I just wish the upstate SC, western NC and a couple of counties in AR would have survived. Patricia A. 3. Hi Audrey, Due to a fire in 1921, the 1890 U.S. census became water damaged. On February 21, 1933 Congress authorized it's distruction. It was distroyed in 1935 by the Commerce Department. In 1942, schedules from some Illinois counties were found to have survived. And in 1953, schedules from a few counties in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas, and the District of Columbia were found. 2. Dolores Pringle
    3. I note that her two sons were Wm. & David; the names of the two earliest TRAYNHAMS who lived in SC in that area. Let me look a bit more on her. I can just look up TRAYNHAM men who would have been the right age to be her husband, and then we can eliminate on the basis of who doesn't show up in 1900. That should help us. I can also look for Wm. & David in 1920; that may tell us something, too. Thanks, and I think we can find an answer to this. The 1880 is so easy; I can pull up all the girls named Sallie born in 1857, no matter what the last name is; then look at the district they are in. I'm sure they would be close to the TRAYNHAMS in Greenville or Laurens Co. I'll look tomorrow. Apr 1857 (she was 43). She had several children living with them from her previous marriage: Maud b. May 1885; Blanch b. Sep 1886; Willie W. b. Apr 1889; Rosa, b. Feb 1891; Mary b. Nov 1892, and David b. Nov 1893 (all Traynhams). After that she went on to have James and Amy Snipes. There's no way of knowing what her maiden name is, but her Traynham husband would show up on the 1890 census (isn't that the way it always is!) He probably died around 1898. (That might be a clue.) This info came from vol. 26, E.D. 24, sheet 16, line 23 of the 1900 census. 3. Hello, I know that the TRAYNHAMS came fr. VA to Laurens area, and I've tried to work on them hoping to find something on the POOL connection, but I'm sure I've never looked at VA records. Not much access to those here in Myrtle Beach - the library is not a big priority in a tourist town, although the folks there are very nice. Maybe I'll look back through the TRAYNHAM info again and see if I can get a clue. I do know that the TRAYNHAMS are supposedly French Huguenots originally. I never thought of TRAYNUM as a French name, but it has been spelled a million ways and I have a hard time working with it bec. of that. Thanks; I'll give a look again to the TRAYNHAMS. God bless, Dolores -----Original Message----- From: Audrey E. I think at one time I saw him as a son in law on a will of HUDSON, but cannot remember where that was. The HUDSON family is sure there. Also, Dolores, have you ever tried working through an intermarried name, like TRAYHAM to see if a POOL line was living in same area? Where are the TRAYHAMS from? I've often thought of working on deeds/wills of the HUDSON family of Southside just to see if I could find something substantial to cling to for both of us.
