    1. [SC] Re: James POOL of Laurens, SC, son in law of Samuel HUDSON-finally worked on both names POOL/HUDSON
    2. Audrey E. Pool
    3. This is for the woman who has the James POOL line of Laurens. I found more than I thought I would in Southside. William POOLE and John BALLARD are witnesses for a record of Samuel HUDSON'S. See notes at end of record below. I have long thought that our John POOL could be a brother to this James POOL, as could a Henry POOL seen in Edgefield, SC. I also named some other names seen in our family genealogies of SC that appear on the same lists of Brunswick and Mecklenburg Counties, VA. Audrey HUDSON: Source: Brunswick County, VA Deed Book 2, Volumn I "Philip (P) ROBERTS of St Andrews Parish in Brunswick Co to SAMUEL HUDSON of same. 6 Oct 1740. William and Bennett HOLLOWAY, respectively, according to the HOLLOWAY men receiving slaves as legatees of John BALLARD when he died in 1787. I have seen that will and it names James as a son in law, but do not remember where it was. (Audrey)

My great great great grandmother Bridget was a slave belonging to David Chisholme of the Louisa/Goochland areas. In 1810 he moved into Chester District, South Carolina. after his death in 1816 the slaves were passed on to his brother Thomas. After 1843 some of the slaves were sold and taken to Gainesville, Florida. I would like to hear from any Chisholms that may have any information, and any Chisholms from the areas that I have previously mentioned. Thank you. Antoinette J. 1. [SC] Coachman, Poole
    2. Hi Audrey! I am working on the Coachman's and Poole's of Georgetown/Berkely District. Hannah Poole Coachman is the ggggg-grandmother of my son on his paternal line. I had no brothers or sisters for her as I have not worked on it in a long time. I think I was just trying to do the direct line. I have a Capt. James Coachman (1732-abt 1789) married to Hannah Poole (d. abt 1772), but with no son named William. James' father was named John and he had a son named William. Hannah Poole's mother was Hannah De-Marboeuf. She may have remarried to a Newman after the death of William Poole. I have some info on the Coachman line down to my son if you want it-some with the siblings, etc. in it. This particular line left SC, migrated to GA and then down to around Clearwater, Pinellas Co, FL. William Alston may have been a grandfather or some kind of kin of Charlotte A. Alston (b. 31 May1788, Georgetown District, SC.) She married Hannah Poole and James Coachman's son, John Coachman in 1828. He was an old man by that time and she was his 5th wife-they had no children. "Sacred to the memory of Charlotte A. Coachman/ widow of John Coachman/ 2nd daughter of Benjamin and Charlotte A. Allston/ who died June 18th 1842/ aged 54 years and 18 days" - Inscriptions from the Allston Burying Ground at Turkey Hill Plantation near Waccamaw, published in SCH&GM, Vol. 10, p. 180. Let me know if you want any of the info on this line. I don't have much on the Poole's, so the earlier posting you made helped out alot. I only had 2 Alston's, Charlotte and a Mary Alston who married into the Coachman family around 1838 or so. Take care and thanks for the info!! Patricia A. There are Ancestry banners and links but are promotion links only. Hope this helps.
