Peter, Below is what our attorney put in our wills. Hope it helps. Kinta To my spouse, children, guardian, administrator and/or executor: Upon my demise it is requested that you DO NOT dispose of any or all of my genealogical records, both those prepared personally by me and those records prepared by others which may be in my possession, including but not limited to books, files, notebooks or computer programs. Please attempt to identify one or more persons who would be willing to take custody of the said materials and the responsibility of maintaining and continuing the family histories. I suggest that the persons contacted regarding the assumption of the custody of these items be _________________. She/he is aware of my wishes concerning all my genealogical work and has agreed to abide by them. In the event you do no find anyone to accept these materials, please contact the various genealogical organizations that I have been a member of and determine if they will accept some parts or all of my genealogical materials. (See attached list.) Please remember that my genealogical endeavors consumed a great deal of time, travel, and money. Therefore it is my desire that the products of these endeavors be allowed to continue in a manner that will make them available to others in the future. Signature ___________________________ Date ___________ Witness ____________________________ Date ___________ Witness ____________________________ Date ___________ Now for my question: No one lives forever and when my time comes ... What happens to my family genealogy files? The reason for my question is that no one in my family has any interest in my hobby. What should I do so that my data is not lost forever? Family research: Hutto, Lorick, Frick's of SC Any suggestions? Thanking you in advance. Ray Hutto (SC born) RayHutto@Yahoo.Com ---------------------------------

Hello List: Not a suggestion, but a question that I'm sure someone will have a answer for me with the problem that I think I have. With some back ground info on my problem: I am not a professional at this thing called genealogy but by my standards I have a large data base (32,000) names on my computer. But my standards also include facts that have not been proven but fit my needs. I have put a lot of work into my data base which is to be viewed by family members, no book pending. I will always try to help anyone that ask a question if the info is in my files and I always state that the facts have not been proven. Now for my question: No one lives forever and when my time comes ... What happens to my family genealogy files? The reason for my question is that no one in my family has any interest in my hobby. What should I do so that my data is not lost forever? Family research: Hutto, Lorick, Frick's of SC Any suggestions? Thanking you in advance. If you would put the surname in the subject line instead of "looking for family" you might get more results. Some people do not take the time to scroll down to see who you are looking for.
Hi, I`m a new member in this list and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Uwe Jacobsen, I`m 61 years old , married and have two adult children. I live in Kiel, the capital of Schleswig - Holstein, Germany. For about 30 years now, the family / genealogical research is my hobby. During this time I made a lot of experiences while researching in the archives of Schleswig-Holstein. If someone needs help with researching for his ancestors in Schleswig-Holstein / Germany and Nord-Schleswig / Denmark, I would like to offer my support - at reasonable prices! Furthermore I translate ( old ) german documents. Please visit my homepage: http://mitglied.lycos.de/akvz/031/Jacobsen.html or contact me via e-mail: uwejacobsen@gmx.de Regards Uwe
To keep the list happier, please if you have suggestions on how to make this list better, write: SC-Genealogy-admin@rootsweb.com Not the entire list!
It would really be a big help if everybody would put the surname in the subject line instead of "Looking for Family", etc.
I have some ancestry information for anyone descended from the above persons. In checking some of my own European ancestry, courtesy of the Stirnet Ancestry source, I happened to see that the Rose family ancestor, Alexander, who (probably) married Margaret Smith, had extensive ancestry well-covered by the Stirnet Ancestry system. I have reason to believe this system is very trustworthy and a good source of information about the complicated connections between various European families. I would be happy to help anyone descended from this family. All the usual caveats are in effect. Edward Manigault
I am looking for the death of a Thomas Drew. He was born 1833 Okehampton Devon England. Thomas died sometime between 1881 and 1901. He had left his family in Canada and started a new life for himself in possibly the Carolinas. He would have been a bigamist. Any help would be appreciated. Peggy Large UE

Darlene, you should consider coming into www.looking4kin.com/chat.html or www.looking4kin.com/chat and come into the Genealogy chat I am in there most of the time under Chandler. All you have to do is just put in a name and you are free to chat. And we don't have people coming in trying to sell porn or any other junk. And we can talk a whole lot faster and try to find some info on John Webber. I hope you didn't mind that I sent you A pdf copy of my group sheets. I haven't made the connection with the upstate yet. Having problems doing that I even have my step G-mother looking into LDS church files. I don't think it was included but look at the Charleston Observer marriage announcements for year 1835 it shows Sarah's annoucement and her father Capt S. Webber have further clue. Darlene, I found a Woody Webber in KY in the 1992-2002 Phone Directory with spouse Joyce. It has him living there from 2000-2002. Middlesboro, KY to be exact. -----Original Message----- From: Darlene Webber Fields [mailto:scfieldsofdreams@bellsouth.net] Sent: Friday, January 27, 2006 10:05 PM To: SC-Genealogy-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SC] Looking for Family Chandler, Thank You for replying. But the info you have found is my father's info. The Norwood Harris Webber, Jr. (Woody) is probably not in SC. I was young when he would come around. So I never knew the whole story. I know he had an argument with his father 20+ yrs. It always seemed to me that he just moved around. I don't know why even at 39 yrs my uncle never would tell me and well I can't get anymore now for sure. The out come is grave. If this helps anyone he had been in Canada, Germany, NC, TN, KY, Washington state. He also supposely was in some type of military, but I was told he deserted. With my medical problems, my money resources are very limited, especially with 4 kids under 10. That is why I was hoping that the boards could help, with others that do have resources already.
