    3. Yes, I am aware of the Brooks around our Williams family. Earliest Brooks I have in my tree is a Mary Catherine Brooks Birth 1668 in Cecil County, Maryland, USA Death Jun 1733 in Cecil, Maryland She married Walter Newman and the Newmans connect to Providence Williams' wife's (Elizabeth Gary) family. My Williams' family sold land in Cecil Co., MD 1736 while living in Orange Co., VA and we haven't been able to determine how they were connected to this land. They were Providence Williams, wife Sarah, Joseph Williams, wife Lydia, and Ann Poulson, husband Richard Poulson. Also have: Lucinda Brooks Birth 1793 in Newberry, South Carolina, USA Death 1854 in Tennessee, USA Married Moses Chesley Pitts Birth 1799 inNewberry County, South Carolina, USA Death 1848 inNewberry, South Carolina, USA Edit this person Here are some deeds: 24 March 1794, James Williams of Newberry County and settlement of the Beverdam, heir at law to James Williams deceased, to Providence Williams Junr, for £50 sterling, 169 acres, part of tract granted to said Williams 24 Oct 1771, recorded in Book IIII, page 278, and in the Auditor's Office in Book L No 11, page 86, adj. John Williams. James Williams (mark), Wit: James Lindsey, Stephen Williams, Jesse Brooks. Proved 25 March 1794 by the oath of James Lindsay before Providence Williams J.P. Recorded 29 Dec 1799. Book D, 524-525: Providence Williams of Newberry County for $350 to Samuel Pearson of same, 169 acres being part of 300 acres granted to James Williams deceased and conveyed by James Williams his son and heir at law to said Providence Williams, adj.
