    3. I am forwarding this email to the group with new member Brenda Brazell's permission. She'd be very happy to hear from researchers on her family either through a response to the list (please alter the subject line to fit your response) or to her personally at: sugarplumabc@yahoo.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Brenda Brazell To: jrussell2@charter.net Sent: Tuesday, June 12, 2012 7:01 AM Subject: Old burial ground, union, sc I saw an e-mail address for you where you have mapped out the old burial ground in Union, SC. I was not able to locate where you have listed the graves you have found, but would be interested in any information you have for it. I am a descendent of James Benson and Martha Quinn, marriages into the family have surnames Evans, Clark, Campbell, Kelly, Patty or Paty and Jay. Looking for any of their graves. I found some in the Bush River burial site that had some of the surnames, but not the first names, based on dates, assuming children or siblings of people I am looking for. Not putting them in my family tree, but only using them to see if could find graves for my ancestors. If you have any good burial grounds sites to look in I would appreciate it. I am new to the looking on this, so have just kept plundering on the internet looking for information. I looked at what was online for Bush River and Camden Quaker burials. Had thought of making a trip to see them and the old burial ground in Union, but would save me lots of headaches if did not have to redo what you have already done on the Old Burial Ground. Only the ancestors that died prior to about 1810 would have been in SC, they moved on to Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma for my line. And then of all wonders, my parents settled in SC in mid 1960s. So I guess my family has gone full circle back to SC. Of course it was only last year when I realized our first American ancestor lived in SC. Since you went to the graveyard, I am assuming you are nearby. It did not say which family line you were from. I have most of the information on all my ancestors with the exception of Thomas Benson. Approximate births for him and Mary Kelly his wife, marriage date and location, but nothing more. Have you seen or heard anyone with more information on him? I know he was in Ohio in 1820's, Indiana 1830s and 1840s, Wisconsin, 1846-1855, and can not find any more on him after. Also would love to figure out if there was a way to know where James Benson's land was in 1800, would love to just go see it and set foot on it if it could be identified now. James Benson, Sr's will says on Tyger River. I see an area on a map that shows Evans and Kelly and further upstream their is a Bens Creek. Wondered if that was how they got their names? By the people living there. If so, then the problem is taking a map and determining where it is physically to stand on it. Now if I could only be so lucky on my Robinson side. I have hit a brick wall, where my Amos Robinson was born 1820, no idea of siblings, and have not been able to match up his father to him. Supposed to be New Hampshire and New York to look in, way too many Amos' and way too many Seth's, his supposed father. Brenda Brazell Granddaughter of James Emory Benson, son of James Henry Benson, son of Samuel Benson, son of Thomas Benson, son of James Benson, son of James Benson.
