I am working on the Hunt family geneology and have discovered a Ralph Hunt born in 1738 in Union Co., South Carolina. He also died there in 1800. His wife was Rachel Campbell. They were married in 1762 and had 10 children. My question to you is, I’m trying to confirm that he is my ancestor. I have his father and mother as Richard and Sarah, but I don’t know if that is right. Is there any information you might have pertaining to the Hunt family?. Ralph and Rachel had a daughter Christianna who was married to Thomas Penny and they came to Darke Ohio. This couple was related to Elijah Hunt and he is my great great grandfather who lived and farmed here in Miami Co., Ohio. It is not clear if he was Christianna’s son or nephew? He is definitely my gggrandpa because we have proof of that. I’m just trying to connect him to Ralph and or Richard. Ralph had a son Samuel (Margret Townsend)who might have been Elijah’s father, but that’s not confirmed. Elijah had sons named Ralph and Richard. Richard is my ggrandpa. It’s getting confusing now.
