Does anyone have any ideas on where Samuel Campbell, who died between 1772 and 1775, might be buried. The info that I have is that he died in Union County. It is possible that he was not a Quaker though evidence is that his widow, Mary Campbell, was. She married Thomas Pearson in Nov. 1775 at Padgett's Creek, Union County after Samuel's death. He reports to us that the one acre plot is in the best condition ever to have a professional survey done. Jack has talked to surveyor Ralph Smith (don't know if he's kin) who has agreed to do the job, probably next week. Ralph will locate and map every named and unnamed stone and every sink hole that Jack (and others) will flag for him. At that time, or sometime soon, we also will take photographs of every stone possible, marked and unmarked. From the map and the photographs, we will be able to create a good report of the cemetery for ourselves, and for the local repositories and societies.
